London based vocalist and composer, Lola Morales was born in San Francisco to parents from Nicaragua. Her cultural identity is steeped in the customs and traditions of this bi-cultural heritage. Lola’s special blend of Latin Jazz meets Neo-Soul is the essence of fusion – the merging of cultures, beats, rhythms & language. Lola’s soulful vocals are underpinned by playful bass lines with a heavy groove, sultry Spanish guitar hooks & Latin beats. Lola delivers a set packed with heart and passion delivered in both Spanish and English.
An international performer, Lola collaborates with musicians from across the globe. From Japan to London, Detroit to Manila, she has shared the stage with world class greats such as Don Was, Paul Randolph, Richard Bravo and The Brothers Groove. Lola has delivered high-energy performances on large festival stages such as the Concert of Colors and the celebrated Detroit All Star’s Review and in smaller venues including Tokyos’s Maduro Lounge, Istanbul’s Les Ottomans & London’s Cafe Floridita. Whether performing on large stages with a full band or in intimate venues with a duo or trio, Lola feels equally at home. She is a five time Detroit Music Awards winner for outstanding world vocalist, outstanding world artist & outstanding world songwriter.
Lola also holds the titles: mother, wife, home-maker and teacher. A serendipitous meeting in a Detroit Jazz club led Lola to the love of her life, prompting an international move to London. Lola now considers London her home, which has introduced another thread in her ever expanding sense of cultural identity. Motherhood has also shifted her perspective. “This chapter in life has offered me the chance to settle deep roots, which is something I yearned for during my time on the road”. Full-time parenting has helped Lola discover the bliss and the balance in becoming a role model, confidant, mentor and best friend to her daughter.
In addition to family responsibilities, Lola has furthered her education and training of the voice with the esteemed Ann-Marie Speed, Vanguard Estill Mentor & Course Instructor and professor of voice at The Royal Academy of Music. Lola has earned the Estill Figure Proficiency (EFP) certification. “Furthering my knowledge of the mechanics of the voice has enriched my own vocal expression and abilities and has ignited an excitement to share my understanding with my students”.
Lola will be performing in venues across the UK in 2025. For all bookings, please enquire at hello@lolamoralesmusic.com
